Mobile - Rotary Drills

Rotary drills are used in the early stages in mining. Exploration companies promote drilling programs when they are looking to drill and locate minerals on their properties. Once a mine is developed, the drills are then used to prepare an area in a pit or underground for blasting so the material can be scooped, loaded into haul trucks and transported to crushers for further preparation. These drills are hydraulic, use torque and rotation to power the mast, stem and ultimately the circulation of drill bit into the earth’s crust. Bucyrus, P&H, Joy Global, Sandvik, Terex, Boart Longyear, Atlas Copco, Cubex and others are makers of drilling equipment used in both underground, mining and the construction industry.
